Kate Radburnd landed in New Zealand as a young w**emaker in 1983 and has basically had a front-row seat to 40+ years of NZ w**e. She’s helped shape sustainable w**egrowing, mentored plenty of women coming up through the industry and made a LOT of very good w**e along the way. These days, she works closely with daughter Penelope, who brings her own w**emaking know-how to Radburnd Cellars.

Kate’s mantra is that “the best w**es are ahead of me”, which is excellent news for us because she’ll be at Famelia very soon, pouring a few of them herself. Thursday 29th October from 6pm. Come drink w**e with us! x

What do an ex-sommelier, a former soldier and a patch of 40+ year-old vines in the Loire have in common? Quite a lot, it turns out. Lise and Bertrand Jousset found that common ground in Chenin Blanc, establishing Domaine Jousset in Montlouis-sur-Loire in 2004 with an organic and biodynamic outlook.

This ‘Heirloom White’ brings together fruit from old vines, vinified separately before finding their way back together in the bottle. Rich and creamy with stone fruit, citrus and marzipan, a lick of minerality, and a toffee apple spice flowing throughout. It’s Dani’s pick of the month, which should tell you something, obvs. Also - SHE’S BACK! Come say hey x

Our friends at Dexter W**es are heading back to Sydney this October, taking over the Famelia kitchen for a very special Saturday lunch with lead w**emakers Jess Clark and Tod Dexter.

Across four courses, they’ll be cracking open their new 2025 Black Label releases alongside current w**es and special back vintages. With a glass of Lugg sparkling on arrival, this is a rather rare opportunity to taste nearly four decades of experience of just two grape varieties in this small family Tuerong vineyard.
