This month brings together quite the crew... pioneering women who’ve spent decades shifting the dial in their regions, next-gen makers doing things differently, tiny independent projects and some very special vineyards scattered from Mount Gambier to Moravia. Meet the amazing women behind our September list 👋

Spring has sprung on the Famelia list 🌱

There’s fizz that quite literally evolves in the glass, whites that wander well outside their usual lane, oranges that move from pretty to smoky and strange, rosé with guts, and reds running the gamut from juicy and chillable to dark, savoury and brooding. It’s a line-up full of contrast and texture, we think you’ll love?! Pouring all September. Come taste your way through 🌸

The wonderful Allanna Wells of Thea Wines is joining us at the bar this Thursday!

Allanna has spent close to a decade getting to know the Hunter Valley from just about every angle, starting a label of her own with husband Michael in 2022. And unsurprisingly, the resulting Thea Wines maintains its focus on the celebrated region.. a fresh perspective on what the Hunter can look like in the hands of its next generation. Come taste with Allanna herself - feel free to join us any time from 6:30pm - 9:30pm this Thursday x

Taking its name from Andrea Miró’s Catalonia-based project, ‘Naturalment’, this tasting takes six of her Terra Alta Grenache Blancs and investigates just how far this versatile grape can really go. Each wine represents a different set of winemaking techniques, all with a focus toward texture. Join us and explore the many expressions of Andrea’s beloved Grenache Blanc on Tuesday 22nd Sept, from 6:30pm xx

Our orange-to-pink spectrum this month is very pretty indeed.

The ‘rebellious’ orange from Anna Moore of Kyatt Dixon is bright, salty and a little stalky, great for these warmer afternoons. The ‘ancient’ amber from Georgia’s Nino and Bastien (Ori Marani) is wonderfully qvevri-weird, going hard on the herbs and earthy complexity. And then we have something a little ‘unexpected’… a pink from Mem Hemmings (MEREDITH) that’s filled with spice, pepper and juicy fruits before taking a decidedly savoury turn. All top-tier options for whatever’s on the agenda this weekend we promise x

Miso and sesame-baked cauli blossoms with spinach & tofu dip. Vegan, very tasty, and hanging around until the end of the month. Also hanging around is a particularly fierce white from Soave’s Valentina Tessari. Big and textural, with salty pineapple, tinned peach and a lick of dried herbs... plenty of freshness to cut through all that miso-sesame goodness.

Sitting on Austria’s eastern edge along the Hungarian border, Burgenland is a region of beautiful contrasts. Warmth, water, an incredible patchwork of soils and some seriously distinctive grape varieties allow it to produce pretty much anything your heart desires.

Tomorrow, we’ll be delving into all of it - with wine for you to taste as we go. Fab. Keen? Last tickets are available via the website xx
