Hello wonderful Sydney Contact Improvisors,

This Saturday (2nd Feb) at 3pm, Momentum will be hosting an Open Underscore. All are welcome, even if you've never experienced the wonderful container of an Underscore before (basically the under score of what happens at a jam). Mike will run through the Underscore with anyone unfamiliar with it beforehand.

The location is Annandale Creative Art Centre at 83 Johnston Street. The cost is $10. You can contact Mike on 04 353 365 09 for more info.

WED NIGHT with CONTACT: Ins & Outs

Cat and Ash are back in action this Wednesday with a series of four Contact Improvisation classes exploring the richness of communication that can occur between moments of physical contact.
Using scores and excercises we will build confidence in ones own dance and sensitivity to the group that can enhance our physical engagements and serve those interested in presenting contact to an audience.
Four Wednesdays 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th

UNDERSCORE this Saturday
August 4th, 3-5 pm at Eliza Street, Newtown.

As usual we ask that all participants arrive well before 3pm. The gates will be open from 2.45pm. As you all know, it is very important for the practice itself to create a container and a group mind that we all share and take part to right from the beginning, please come on time!

This session is open to people that have done the underscore before or attended one of the introductory sessions.

Introduction to the UnderScore is on today, 3-6pm. Please remember is a lock-out event we will close the doors at 3pm sharp.

During the first hour, we will discuss the graphic symbols she has created "to capture the spirit or energy" of what she has observed as underlying and constant. The remaining two hours, will be dedicated to dancing and experiencing the Underscore itself.

We invite all dancers, regardless of their experience of the Underscore, to come to this introductory session to either learn the structure or to revise and deepen your understanding.

Please bring warm and comfy clothes, writing and drawing material.
