Welcome to Burrito Week 🌯

Over the past two years, our annual Hop Burrito release has grown into cult classic status, and this year we’re taking it to a whole new level.

On Friday, the 11th of September, we’ll be releasing this year’s Burrito beers, that’s right, plural. But more on that this Wednesday 👀

To celebrate the release, we’re throwing a weekend-long fiesta in the taproom. Back in 2023, we collaborated with the legends at Bracket Brewing on the very first Hop Burrito. So, it only made sense to dedicate some tap space to their recent birthday release over the weekend.

Plus, to pair with all the Burrito and Bracket beers, we’ll be serving up specials of chicken caesar burritos and pork shoulder chimichangas.

This rendition of Nothing But The Best is a little overdue, but we’re glad it’s finally here.

Back when we first conceived the idea of a single-hop West Coast IPA series, the original hop that inspired it was Nelson.

On the nose, there’s plenty of Nelson dankness followed by white grape and fresh gooseberries.

Those classic Nelson flavours wash over the palate, along with vibrant orange citrus, pink grapefruit, and Sauvignon Blanc. It finishes ultra-clean with a beautifully balanced hop bitterness and fruit kick.

Current Status: Floating 🫧

We’ve never done a two-hop combo in our Floating On Green series before and we’ll have to do it again because this is an absolute banger.

There are ludicrous amounts of Citra Incognito, Citra Cryo, Citra T-90, Motueka Cryo, Motueka T-90, and Motueka Hop Kief. The hop flavours are super saturating, and there’s a woody pine note that adds complexity without the bitterness.

🏅 Nothing But The Best: Nelson 🏅

6.8% West Coast IPA

Nothing But The Best: Nelson Sauvin is the next iteration in our new single hop West Coast IPA series. A peak behind the curtain here is the idea of a Nelson single hop West Coast IPA was the original inspiration for this series, so this rendition was a must sooner rather than later. We’ve layered Nelson Suavin and Nelson Sauvin Cryo on a malt bed of Gladfield Lager Light malt from NZ, for a super clear, fluorescent yellow hue colour, with a perfect white foam. On the nose, that classic Nelson dank takes centre stage, followed by white grape and fresh gooseberries. Take a sip and those same classic nelson flavours burst through, along with Bright and vibrant orange citrus, pink grapefruit, and sauvignon blanc all coming through with every sip. The finish is ultra clean and has a beautifully balanced hop bitterness and fruity kick. Nothing but the best!

🫧 Floating On Green: Citra + Motueka 🫧

6.7% Oat Cream IPA

Floating On Green: Citra & Motueka is the newest addition to our Floating series and features a frankly ludicrous amounts of hops, including Citra Incognito, Citra Cryo, Citra T-90, Motueka Cryo, Motueka T-90 and Motueka Hopkief. It's our first ever two hop combo Floating On Green, and it's an absolute banger to kick things off with. Super hazy in the glass and super soft on the palate thanks to huge hits of oats, wheat and lactose to give that smooth floating cloud body and a whippy white foam. On the nose, pungent and expressive aromas that are wafting notes of sweet guava, orange sherbet and passionfruit cream with a hint of woody resin that builds on the intensity. Take a sip and you'll cop saturating and dominating hop flavours of passionfruit, papaya, orange fanta, and a finishing note of woody pine that doesn't necessarily add bitterness but a welcome other dimension to add to the hop complexity. The finish is juicy and succulent, just how we like it.

When you hit one of your favourite-ever Westys with our signature DDH treatment, you’re left with a pretty spectacular beer.

We can’t express how much we love this style, and this one improves on what was already close to perfect.

DDH Sticky Icky’s hop bill of Riwaka Cryo, Nelson Sauvin, Nectaron, and Chinook shines through a lean and clean malt bill.

It’s also what we entered into the IPA Cup yesterday, so if you liked it you can grab a 4pk.

Nuggets is back and dialled all the way up to 10 🍗

Our favourite from the RB8 birthday release, now in the form of a DDH DIPA. 10 Piece has got that same soft breakfast smoothie character, but with a hop saturation on another level entirely.

The body is criminally soft and frankly ludicrous for this many hops. It’s not bad as dipping sauce either.
