This week was a sad one - our old Head Brewer Chase headed back to the states with his beautiful fam Peyt & Coop to embark on new adventures, and bring a new baby girl into world.
Lots of tears in the final days but there’s also been time for some nice reflection on what we’ve accomplished over the last 2 and a half years.
There was a bit of trial and error on my side of the business but Chase always had the beers nailed down, maybe some trial but never any error.
December 2023 we opened a couple of days before Christmas with two beers on tap - fast forward two years and this Christmas we had 11 beers on tap and we’ve put 10 into cans, and on the way we gave Narooma its own beer.
Chase, (and Peyt!!), you were always a pleasure to work with, and I thank my lucky stars that when we were looking for a brewer we found you. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to hold my hand for Breakwall’s first two years.
Not only did we say goodbye this week to colleagues, we said goodbye to a couple of very dear friends, and that’s been painful. But it’s not goodbye, only seeya later, even if it’s only for a visit.
(But also please feel free to move back when you’ve realise how much you miss us)
Chase has passed the baton to Breakwall’s new Head Brewer Joe Kennedy (slide 8) who’s been with us since November.
Joe’s a special addition to this team - he and his wife Meg are also dear friends of Chase and Peyton, and Joe was the one who introduced me to Chase in the very first place a few years back, so having him here feels right.
Miss ya already guys ❤️✈️
