Morpeth Brewery The Morpeth Brewery & Beer Co. is a micro-brewery situated at the Commercial Hotel Morpeth. The Brewery kicked off operations in April 2012.

At Morpeth Brewery & Beer Co we are passionate about brewing according to artisan principles, and aspire to produce all-natural beers from the finest quality ingredients, with no additives or preservatives. Our beers are naturally carbonated which means that the ‘life’ in the beer is the result of secondary fermentation in the keg, rather than by forced-carbonation as is commonly used by the big b

reweries. Consequently, while the head on our beers may not be as pronounced as the head on mainstream beers, this in no way impacts on the taste. In fact we believe that natural carbonation results in a more flavourful, complex and interesting beer. To ensure the ultimate in flavour we do not filter our beers ‘across the board’ as is the practice with the big breweries. We strongly believe that the filtration process removes much of the flavour and goodness from beer – including nutritious vitamin B – and so we prefer to allow our beers to clarify naturally. The traditional method of priming the beer and letting the yeast work its magic over the course of several weeks may be slow and inefficient by today’s standards, but we’ll take it gladly if the end result is beer we are proud to brand as ours. Be sure to experience the superb taste & freshness of our delicious beers brewed right here on the premises! Ask at the bar for a sampler - or better yet - a middy or a pint! The brewery is able to be viewed from the footpath and also from a glass viewing panel inside the hotel. Tasting sessions will be carried out on Saturday afternoons starting in July 2012 at the Commercial Hotel Morpeth and a beer and food matching menu will also be available.
