For us at Fame Trivia, trivia is about more than just answering questions.

‘Twas just 140 friends (24 teams) and I in the Sports Bat tonight, and it was great fun as usual! Thanks to everyone who came along and made it a fantastic gig.

I have never played that song in my backing music playlist in over 2,500 trivia shows I have hosted for FAME Trivia over the decades! In fact, I should try to come up with a playlist of famous mainstream hit songs that I have never played!
Ok, I’ll give that a go for next Tuesday!

It was an auspicious night at trivia
In the Sports Bar, as I finally donned the Famous Pink Jacket, after a hiatus of several months! It generated plenty of comments, most of which were positive! 😊

Coupled with the black bow tie, black trousers, and crisp white Christian Dior shirt, I certainly felt like the James Bond of trivia tonight!

As it is Sir Paul McCartney’s birthday this Thursday (18th June), I’ll definitely have to wear it again next week as we (or maybe only I!) celebrate the 84th birthday of the greatest musician to have ever walked the earth. You may reasonably expect to hear a few McCartney tunes in amongst my backing music playlist next Tuesday night! 😊

Week 18 of trivia this year was another ripper! The Sports Bar was packed to the rafters with 25 teams competing. Some teams are still getting used to sitting in different spots, but from my perspective the new layout is infinitely better. Without the round tables, the space is so much more efficiently used. We can now comfortably accommodate 25 teams every Tuesday night, which hopefully means that no-one misses out from week-to-week.

The image below shows the drink, Buck’s Fizz, which we learned about this evening. The other photo shows the Brit Pop act of the same name, from the early-80s. Buck’s Fizz won the Eurovision Song Comp in 1981 with their massive hit, “Makin’ Your Mind Up’”. Thanks to the few players who reacted positively when I played that very song as my backing music after the Buck’s Fizz question. It’s nice when efforts are appreciated! 😊
