UPDATE: The magnum has survived Week 1. 🍷

The wine did not.

We sent two of our regulars off on a four-month lap of Australia with a magnum of La Vieille Ferme Rosé. The rosé lasted approximately five minutes, but the bottle has somehow become a travelling companion.

One week in and it’s already seen more of Australia than most Victorians.

Keep the photos coming, legends. We expect regular check-ins from our roaming ambassador.

And we're finishing with a wine that's a little bit bold, a little bit mysterious and absolutely not here for long.

Meet Poggio Anima "Samael" Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

Born in the rugged hills of Abruzzo, on Italy's wild Adriatic coast, this is a wine with serious personality.

Poggio Anima's collection is inspired by celestial spirits and archangels, and Samael is the dark horse of the lineup. Rich, generous and unapologetically Italian.

Think black cherry, plum, blackberry, a touch of spice and enough silky texture to make Melbourne's winter feel considerably more civilised.

It's the kind of red that demands a second glass.
