Carlo’s wines are in the hoooouse!

The 2023 M’arricriu and Ciaülà have just landed - and if you know the wines, you’ll be thanking us. Not just for your palate, but your wallet too. These are insane value!

Quick reminder: M’arricriu is bright, juicy and wildly drinkable (we seem to say this a lot... pretty sure it’s what we like to drink!); Ciaülà is deeper, more grounded and built for the table. Two sides of the same euro, both unmistakably Carlo.

Pat Underwood is busy right now, good busy. New 23 Charddy and Nebbiolo to market (yay!), harvest is in full swing, and a baby imminent! Awesome.

The 2023 vintage was a beauty and as always, Pat’s approach is rooted in a simple but uncompromising idea: if your name is on the bottle, you need to be absolutely clear about what you believe good wine looks like.

The 2023 Dash Farm Chardonnay and Chalmers Nebbiolo are confident indeed, the wines speak clearly of place, and as always, handled with restraint and precision.

J U S T L A N D E D – Alberto Oggero

Roero is finito living in Barolo’s shadow. Growers like Alberto Oggero are showing just how lip-smackingly, bloody delicious Nebbiolo can be on Roero’s sandy soils - brighter, lifted and full of energy. And the Sandro d’Pindeta is back baby: an ode to Alberto’s grandfather and a dangerously drinkable reminder of why we can never seem to keep it in stock.

2023 Le Coste and Anime are here too…. Get in touch - seriously

Far out — just when you think you’ve got James Erskine figured out, he goes all crazy with new varietals and flips expectations again. Enter Fi’s Garden Sciacarello — floral and vibrant like Corsica’s Gamay — and Bedrock & Blooms Muscat Petit Grain, a wildly aromatic grape transformed through long skin contact into something textured and savoury. Same dry-farmed, organically tended vineyards — just more curiosity in the glass.

N E W R E L E A S E – Commune of Buttons

We are releasing the 25 reds and 24 whites in this tranche… ‘say whaaaat?’... I hear you say! Well that’s to do with Jaspers love of extended elévage for his Chardonnays.. and we just had Tomoko here from Chanterêves (Burgundy) here in Australia, telling us the same thing! It means you can pick early and then bring on the texture and breadth through a little oxygen and lees. YUM!

Some years just roll on out, while others demand patience; 2025 was warm, so all about lots of thinking and bloody hard work. 2024 was just noice! Quite balanced, and yeah, just kind of rolled out (easy for us to say!).

J U S T L A N D E D – Chartogne Taillet 2020’s

Alexandre is STILL on a killer run of form, the newest wines to hit the deck are from 2020 and our mouths are salivating at what’s in bottle… literally! Nick Ryan (The Australian) just wrote that CT was his find of last year and after giving the Sainte-Anne 97 pts, we just can’t argue.

Twenty-twenty is a beautifully chiselled and intense year for CT’s single vineyard cuvées; every variety seems to have excelled this year, and each wine is bristling with incision and depth. If your budget does not stretch to the top shelf, Alexandre’s blended Champagne, the Saint-Anne [2022 base], is not much of a step down… Galloni said it, Nick Ryan said it – there you go!

N E W R E L E A S E – Woodlawn

The 2023 Single vineyard expressions from our guy Ricky Evans have just hit the deck, and when you taste, we are quite sure you will agree with us that the hype around Tasmania is very real indeed!

Along with Three Wishes and Waverly, this year we are also introducing Woodlawn Park, the single vineyard expression from the family property… and we are very much excited about this!! This is Ricky’s largest site. The vines sit on free-draining aeolian sands over a gentle, north-facing slope. Here the vines get an incredible view of the winding river and Swan Bay, keeping the fruit fresh. The 4ha plot is planted to a range of Pinot Noir clones and a smattering of Chardonnay… just the way we like it!
