Nestled in the vibrant Hardware Lane is East China Trading Company home to exotic cocktails and spirits. East China Trading Company takes its heritage from the trading companies on the ports of Old World Shanghai and acts as the ‘front’ for its more libertine sister establishment Golden Monkey below. East China Trading Company is modern and vintage all at once with a charming warehouse feel to it. A ceiling-high back bar inspired by Asian architecture houses over 200 rare and unique spirits. Stripped-back walls, soft table lamp lighting, ceiling fans and rustic wooden booths lined in jade green cushions give it a quaint, intimate and cosy feel. The ceiling of intertwined ropes complete the shipping company feel and contrasts with the rigid maze structure of Golden Monkey below. The drinks are worldly twists on classic cocktails with great wines, craft beers, and a selection of some of the finest teas from China also on offer. Good times and good fortune are guaranteed to those that step through the door!
