A cinematic match made in rock n roll heaven!

Don't miss this rare screening of two legendary short films - with a special focus on two iconic St Kilda music venues - the Crystal Ballroom with the fantastic short experimental documentary (1980), Punkline.

PLUS the second ever screening of Last Drinks ( 1996) a raucous doc looking at the last days before the renovation of the legendary Prince of Wales Hotel way back when in the grunge heydays of the 90s.

Both docs feature pivotal characters of Melbourne's live music scene that are heavy-hitters to this day.
This is also the only screening of Last Drinks since its original single premiere ( It was accompanied with a live performance by the Cosmic Psychos!

Celebrating PRIDE MONTH 🌈June 2026!

Since 1979, the Star Observer has dedicated all its energies to inform and connect Australia’s LGBTIQ+ communities over the news and issues that matter to them, via a monthly magazine and online news outlet.

The publication has shared the community’s struggles and triumphs for decades, and shone a light on many unique stories untouched by the mainstream press – from the AIDS crisis and the decriminalisation of homosexuality through to trans rights and marriage equality🟰.

Its offices are located at the Pride Centre on Level 3/79-81 Fitzroy Street

The Star Observer celebrates over FOUR DECADES as a community owned LGBTIQ+ media outlet!❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
