A new plan has emerged to stop the demolition of Melbourne's heritage-listed Palace Theatre at October 2016 Melbourne City Council elections.

Speechless; clearly the history of my life means nothing to the history of Melbourne.

Lord Major Doyle, you once said to me personally outside a Council mtg; I wish the MCC could had saved you. Nice words on face value but which developer/s contributed to your campaign ? I'm sure we (your voters) would all love to know ?

Clearly its been about NOT saving the history of my town where I was born; its called Melbourne. Remember Cr Doyle; I made Melbourne the capital of Australia's music industry and not you with your words.

The Palace Theatre will live on with those who have set foot on that holy turf !

VCAT has approved the demolition of all but the front facade of the Palace Theatre, in a decision that deals a devastating blow to the heart of Melbourne’s live music and heritage communities…

"Cr Foster said that the real problem is Doyle's five councilors being unable to vote because they've taken so much money from property developers"

Love too know who much Jinshan Developers donated to these Councilors.

Surely there must be a register available to the public ????

Do we need an Enquiry into the Melbourne City Council OR should we put them in the same boat as Doyle's mate in the Geelong Council ??

As a operating co-owner of the Palace Theatre Pty Ltd (2007 – 2014), I would like to formally and publically acknowledge and sincerely thank Rebecca Leslie, Michael Raymond & Tristian Davies along with the Save the Palace Theatre / Metro Group, Melbourne Heritage Action Group and National Trust of Australia (Victoria).

The last time I wrote an “open letter” was to officially announce the closure of the venue in May 2014.

Since this time, Rebecca, Michael & Tristian along with their teams have, without expectation or desires, fought a David & Goliath battle in the belief that industry & community support would sway a Government body to do the right thing to save one single building that should have, long ago, been listed as a Heritage Building.

My sincere thanks to those Councillors that actually cared and visited the venue on numerous occasions prior to its closure; you are the unnamed few.

I would also like to thank KOKO/Mint Group & Joe Heanen (UK Group) who were initially known as the “white knight”. They seat in the background with an offer on the table with the Developer’s lawyers should that time occur that the owner wanted to commence commercial discussions.

Regretfully that day will not come now.

On a personal note, I was devastated when the Palace Theatre closed. This closure changed not only my life but the life’s of so many others. The Palace Theatre or similar will raise again but it won’t be at the hands of a politician claiming Melbourne to be the “capital music city of Australia”. The hands will be formed by you & me and the Australian Music Industry.

This letter is not asking for comment from any person as all I want to do, at this stage of events, is too simply acknowledge and thank various people in an open forum.
