Our Winter Solstice street party is BACK and bigger than ever!!

We’ll be taking over Errol Street and throwing a party with a few of our favourite local community groups and businesses North & West Melbourne Precinct, The Hotham History Project Inc, Bear's Wine Bar, Here's Looking At You Kid and Bakery Hill Distillery for an afternoon and evening that celebrates the best of winter in North Melbourne.

Expect free face painting and lawn games for the kids, fire pits to huddle around while listening to live music and ghost stories from local historians, and of course an array of food and drinks from local vendors prepared and served curb-side.

We’re also really excited to have Arts House opening up their bell tower for exclusive tours. This is a rare chance to experience one of North Melbourne’s hidden landmarks from above.

Save the date and gather the family. We can’t wait to celebrate the longest night of the year with our North Melbourne community.

Dinner bookings in the pub are essential, walk-ins welcome for all other activities 🤎

One of our favourites on the menu at the moment.

We’ve been working with Paroo Premium Kangaroo, a great Australian supplier championing one of the country’s most unique and sustainable proteins.

Kangaroo is lean, high in iron, and has a much lighter environmental footprint than traditional livestock; they’re gentle on Aussie flora and produce very little methane.

On the plate:

Back in the day, Aussie pubs were licensed as 'hotels' because they had to offer a bed when serving a beer. Travellers needed a place to eat, drink, and stay, so the local became an all-in-one stop. The name 'hotels' has stuck to pubs throughout Melbourne since.

We’ve leaned into that tradition by creating two boutique suites above the gentle hum of the pub. All the Courty character you know downstairs, and a proper place to crash when you’ve had one too many.

Cheers to three years!

This Sunday we’re celebrating the best way we know how, another MAGNUM PARTY!! We’ve got a whole lineup of magnums pouring by the glass and are bringing back a few of our greatest hits from the food menu over the years for the day.

More than anything, it’s a celebration of the people who fill this place week after week. The locals, staff, friends and familiar faces who make the pub what it is.
