- Native x One or Two -

Four years ago, One or Two began its story in Melbourne.

Four years of drinks, conversations, late nights, familiar faces, and new ones.
And many ducks. 😗

But also a path that has taken us far,
Beyond where we started.

🐗

Next Sunday (1/11), we celebrate One or Two’s 4th birthday with a couple of very special guests from Singapore.

We’re excited to welcome
Vijay from Native, Vijay Mudaliar,

from Singapore, behind the bar alongside his team lead, Adrian ADL.

Native is a bar we’ve long admired for its deep connection to Southeast Asian ingredients and culture, its thoughtful approach to cocktails, and its ability to put stories into an experience.

🍋‍🟩

And at the end of it all, it’s all for a good time.
Come have some fun with us!

NOVEMBER 1, SUNDAY
6PM - 11PM

And, of course,
with the love and support from Bacardi
BACARDÍ.

See you at the bar.

- FIRE HORSE -

Mala Hotpot Highball, you say?

Being in Chinatown, we love bringing a little Asian drinking culture into what we do;
Playing with familiar flavours and giving them a new twist.

Built from the bones of a classic cocktail,
Gentleman’s Buck.

Monkey Shoulder Blended Scotch,
lengthened with carbonated tea infused with
Sichuan pepper, star anise and sour plum.

The sour plum brings that familiar suān méi tāng character, tangy, savoury and slightly sweet.

A classic hotpot companion,
but surprisingly good in a Highball.

Warm spice. Bright acidity. Plenty of fizz.

Inspired by Milanda
the Fire Horse is born.

Once every 60 years,
just like the zodiac.

Mala hotpot Highball, you say?

When it's coming to cocktail creation, we really enjoyed combining exotics and unique cusinal flavours together.

Especially located inside Chinatown,
There nothing more exciting get into the scene.

Inspired by building on a Classic cocktails,
Gentlemen's Buck

Monkey Shoulder Blended wh**ky being the backbone of the Buck.

We enhancing the heat component with firly spice such as Sichuan Pepper, and Anise.

Swapping out the fruit with a nogisutic sour plum drink, where you will normally consume during a hot pot. * it believe to be helping with your digestion too! *

And there we go,
A fire horse had borned.

Once in every 60 years.
Just like the zodiacs.
Spicy, fizzy & Vibrant.

We just opened this Ardbeg 10 Years Old Committee Release.

Full of gunpowder, roasted orange & juicy apricot notes.
Long, ashy, with lingering ember sparks.

Mind you, it’s also a 61.7% dram.

It’s rough, but so good.
Definitely not for the faint of heart.

- VEGEMITE MARTINEZ -

Some drinks create themselves.

After a team meeting at the pub, we headed to for ice cream and found their white chocolate and Vegemite flavour.

We loved it. 🔥

A few days later, the idea of turning that flavour profile into a cocktail felt like a fun challenge.

We chose a Martinez, a classic the whole team loves, and one that worked really well as a base for the flavours we wanted to build into the drink.

We started with the texture of the ice cream.

Using a milk punch technique, we split the milk with vanilla yoghurt, giving the finished drink a richer mouthfeel and a subtle vanilla flavour.

Next came the Vegemite.

We make a compound butter with Vegemite, then fat-wash the already milk-punched cocktail.

This lets the drink take on that savoury Vegemite character without overpowering everything else, just a soft touch, much like the original ice cream.

The whole process takes four days.

A long time for one drink, but we think it’s worth it.

Come try the Vegemite Martinez on Vol.14 Menu.
