The Hawke’s Marzen is back. Same German-style l***r, same high-octane nod to Oktoberfest, and brewed by the same two blokes who think lederhosen are just footy shorts with pockets. So raise a stein to Brodes and Kizz. They’ve done it again.

You can enjoy a schooner of our Festbier fresh from the tap at the BHBLC Public Bar right through Oktoberfest.

Originating in Bavaria as the traditional Oktoberfestbier, this elegant, complex, clean southern German L***r is highly drinakable, delivering a rich malt flavour with a clean l***r yeast character and restrained bitterness.

We feel like Dad on Chrissy who’s popped down to Grace Brothers to buy a new TV set for the family. Look at it in all of it’s glory, placed perfectly up next to the air conditioning unit. Truly the eighth best spot to watch the footy in Marrickville.

The Bob Hawke B**r & Leisure Centre will be showing the NRL Grand Final out in the stunning al fresco surrounds The Backyard this Sunday 4 October.

With no wet weather backup plan and perfectly timed QANTAS flyover scheduled for crucial moments, it’s sure to be a wonderfully sufficient viewing experience. You could say it’s the eighth best place to watch the footy in Marrickville.

To sweeten the deal, we’re bolstering our usual Sunday beverage discount, dropping the price of a jug of Hawke’s to just $20 all day Sunday.

The big dance in the NRLW will be on from 4pm, before Peter V’landys’ mysterious new secret pre-game entertainment will apparently take us to the showdown between the Knights and Easts at 7:30pm.
