Welcome to 2025 everyone,
We wish to share this news on facebook to our customers, family and friends of Hodgys that during the Christmas break we made the heart breaking decision to permanently close our beautiful little bar and restaurant here in downtown Launceston, for good. Business is always hard, we certainly have had a fair share of tough times (some great times),new/small businesses are not only financially draining, labour intensive, time consuming, but down right bloody hard yakka. Whilst we have met, made and enjoyed the company of so many friends (patrons), this is just not enough to keep the business open, each and everyone will be so missed. Hodgy’s was a dream of our leader, Andy, some know the story of the road to this fantastic bar, our founding mirror that hung proudly inside the main door is over 25 years old and was carried around by our owner, through marriage, birth of two beautiful daughters, loads of homes, loads of cars, mountains of jobs and places lived to end up here. The magnificent little bar & restaurant, loved by his past and present staff, enjoyed by so many in our 15 months. Andy, late last year had some health problems, that were being managed, but have slowly deteriorated over these months, with some hospital time due soon and some recovery time thereafter, he decided the time (heart wrenching) for health and well being, plus more time for family, was warranted.
We want to thank you all for everything you have brought to this great little place. For those customers that have outstanding vouchers (either purchased or donated- please make contact via email below to arrange options), our current phone number is still connected at this stage and will be checked randomly, our email address is [email protected], please if you have any questions, require any clarification, have outstanding accounts (either with us or we, with you) or just want to send something please we ask that you contact us via email in the first instance.
Once again thank you everyone for making Andys dream a reality, thanks for being a friend of Hodgys. We loved having you and we loved being a part of the Launceston streetscape. Kind regards The Hodgys team.

Merry Christmas and happy new year from Hodgy’s. Shout out to all our customers old and new we are taking a well earned break !!! It’s been a big year and everyone deserves a rest. Hodgys will be closed from Friday the 20th December 2024 to the 6th January 2025 we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and new year , stay safe and well.

We celebrate over a YEAR of Hodgy’s.

Not long ago we opened the doors here at a prime location in the heart of Launceston, well-known for its history as the Northern Club.

A lot of blood, sweat and tears have been put into this place and without all of you it would not have been possible to keep trading. Small businesses aren’t easy but every one of you, have made every second worth it.

Thank you to everyone that has joined our family along the way. Those who pop in for a drink, our regulars, our staff and those who travel from all parts of the world. We have had so many laughs and celebrations within our doors and can’t wait for many more to come.

This wonderful establishment wouldn’t be the same without you.
