Basalt Wines is a boutique vineyard and cellar door located on the Great Ocean Rd near Port Fairy, Victoria. Drop in for cellar door sales and tastings of our biodynamically grown Riesling, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo. We serve European-inspired bar snacks and local cheeses, plus wines by the glass, craft spirits and beers every Tue-Sun in our rustic Winery Shed (head out the back!). We're kid friendly too - plenty of space to explore, play cricket, kick the footy or play bocce.

Winter Solstice feels like the right time to pause and look back.

Just over six months ago, we opened the doors to our two vineyard villas — a new way to experience Basalt, in addition to our cellar door tastings and lunches.

Since then, we’ve welcomed guests for slow weekends, winter escapes, fireside evenings, long lunches, wine tastings, quiet mornings and a little time tucked away near the Great Ocean Road.

Thank you to everyone who has stayed, visited, shared a kind word, booked a villa, dined with us for lunch or simply followed along.

Here’s to the longest night, the return of the light, and many more Basalt experiences ahead.
