Steve Sedergreen and his good friends return to the Brisbane Jazz Club for another sensational show. This lineup is built on history, chemistry and serious musicianship.
A central figure in Melbourne jazz for decades, Sedergreen brings his unmistakable touch to the piano alongside James Clark and Rod Gilbert — a rhythm section grounded in feel and experience.
Steve will be joined by vocalist Jacki Gaudion, who has an uncanny vocal resemblance to the late, great Renee Geyer, and delivers exceptional timing, delivery and storytelling, all drenched in the blues.
Jacki’s cousin Ash Gaudion, a stalwart of the Melbourne jazz scene, is an engaging and entertaining player, his saxophone offering loads of heart and soul and he sings like a true jazz crooner from yesteryear as well.
Trumpeter Toby Mak played with Steve’s Mistaken Identity for years and is nothing short of world class. He has recently returned from 20 years in Shanghai, where he played with many of Jazz’s biggest international touring players.
Rod Gilbert on drums, who leads the hip Australian band The Shuffle Kings, is one of those rare individuals who can capture any audience. His outstanding ability on the drums reflects him - a natural performer.
James Clark on Double Bass is an exceptional bassist, the anchor in any band, and has been described as “the bass player with the best time”. Charismatic and a natural performer, James has worked with Steve for years and can easily pivot from contemporary to traditional and everything in between.
