Rektango This is Rektango. Or, rather, this is a page for what is now known as The Rektango Courtyard. It's a Hobart institution.

Hobart's funkiest and cruisiest start to the end of the week is on every Friday from 6pm to 7:30pm. It's also probably the coolest hour and a half that you'll spend all week. Situated in the historic Salamanca Arts Centre Courtyard in Salamanca, with a rotation of eklectic and groove driven bands entertaining a melting pot of hippies, suits and everything in between, it's not a place you'll only go to once. Hmm, the BOM is not painting a pretty picture of the weather this evening folks, so the Courtyard is cancelled I'm afraid.

Apologies, stay dry and firmly anchored to the ground in these winds and we'll see you next week !

Change of schedule for tomorrow evening folks - Emily Wolfe will be bringing her intrepid band of rabble-rousing musicians to the Courtyard with WOLFE FOLK !

Come down for hot music, a hot drink and some dancing.

Hey folks, if anyone lost a bank card at the Courtyard this evening (Aug 21), shoot me a message, it’s safe and sound.

Hello Rektanglers, I’m afraid to say that there will be no Courtyard this evening (Aug 14) due to unforeseen circumstances.

Many apologies for that, but here’s a list of what’s coming up over the next 6 weeks.

Hope to see you next Friday !

Aug 21 - the thumping good times of Mangus and Co

Aug 28 - soulful retro grooves from Vest Friends

Sept 4 - the jumping juggernauts of swing Uncle Gus and the Rimshots

Sept 11 - the eclectic energy of Wolfe Folk

Sept 18 - catchy original goodness from Zac Henderson

Sept 25 - Jay Jarome and band are bringing their soul n groove to town.

Come on down, put your foot on the rock and pat your foot, don't stop - put your foot on the rock tomorrow night at the Courtyard with Tracksuit !

Well the mountain has a dusting of snow and there’s more to come this eve according to the BOM oracle.

While I do love a blanketed Kunanyi, the forecast is for increasing rain down here at river level so I’m afraid the Courtyard is cancelled this evening (July 24) folks.

Stay warm and hope to see you next Friday when Tracksuit grooves it up !

Well we're into another season of furry hats, fingerless glove-wearing musicians and lots of bouncing up and down to keep warm !

Many thanks to Balachko Beats for keeping us moving on Friday.

Here's July's line-up:

July 3 - The Black Swans of Trespass (energetic shenanigans)

July 10 - Xixa (cumbia goodness)

July 17 - Gold Pen (groovy poppy soul)

July 24 - Prophecy (it'll be funky)
