Dear Maypole Community,

It’s hard to find the words to describe the devastation that is occurring in Nepal right now.

Our hearts go out to all those impacted, but for us at the Maypole we are particularly thinking of the families & friends of our wonderful Nepalese kitchen team.

Sadly our Head Chef Saroj has lost three family members & his parents are missing. An unimaginable loss & we send him our love as he travels home to Nepal to help the recovery effort.

We will be closing our kitchen tomorrow night (Wednesday 2 September) so that our wonderful kitchen team can attend a candlelight vigil. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We understand that this may be inconvenient but ask for your understanding at this difficult time.

For those who would like to make a donation then please do so through a reputable charitable organisation. We will also be organising a fundraising activity for Friday night if you would prefer.

Saroj, Sonam, Bicky, Bipik & Umesh - we are here for you & your community. ❤️
