At DarkLab we are investigating how we can play our part in supporting local producers and the community at large during the challenging times we’re all experiencing due to coronavirus.

As you may know, DarkLab is the team behind In The Hanging Garden, Dark M**o, Altar, Odeon Theatre, Hobart, and other projects. Whilst we’re devastated by this year’s festival cancellation and current venue closures, along with our entire industry and wider Tasmanian community, it’s given us time to think about how we can help.

As a response to some markets closing and local producers' business severely dropping off, we have drafted an initiative called Hanging Garden Green Grocer: a large, dynamic and safe space for locals to buy and sell fresh produce, located in the Cathedral at In The Hanging Garden.

Different to most conventional produce markets, the Grocer has been designed in collaboration with advice from the Department of Health to work specifically within a COVID-19 world, and to mitigate as many of the risks as possible.

Just under two weeks ago she became the State Apprentice Category winner of The Beam-Suntory Perfect Blend Cocktail competition Vic/Tas.
This is a first for Hobart!
Can't wait till we get to see her behind a bar again, flinging out drinks aswell as her quirky sense of style & banter!!!
