Time for a little heads up on the latest beer drop.

Behold, the Pelican Banks XPA.

Pours with a bright, golden‑yellow colour with a slight hazy glow. It sits right in that sweet spot between straw and light gold, under a foam cap of silky white, tight foam that leaves a french lace coating on the glass & with enough turbidity from the hop oils to give it a soft, juicy appearance you’re about to confirm on a palate of light citrus zest, passionfruit, guava, perhaps a hint of berry and with a mixed tropical fruit vibe.

4.5% abv.

KIWI CRUSHER fans will be pleased to know there’s a couple of hundred cans of their fav’ mid strength lager sitting in the fridge awaiting their arrival.

We have cans enroute at the moment for Hazy Boi, The Centennial IPA and Golden Ale. We’ll follow up in about a month with Cans for the limited release beers like Franconian Schwarzbier and the Czech Style Pils. Plus, maybe….”Maybe” the New XPA.

Heads up for new beer drops. The first of the seasonal releases has dropped. More will follow over the next few weeks.

So, first up is a Franconian Schwarzbier. In essence, it’s an old beer style that dates back to BC era and is originally from the Northern Bavarian Region of Germany. A bit darker than a Munich Dunkel and a touch more roasty with hints of chocolate and coffee. It’s also more crisp than a Munich Dunkel. Think of it more as a Black Pilsner. Tasty, delicious and 100% suited to our local meagre attempt at winter weather conditions. By the way, winter is scheduled for a Friday this year. This one’s 4.6% Abv.

Daniel’s been up to his winter warmer mischief in the kitchen again & nailed it.

This week’s special - starting Friday Lunchtime & available until sold out.

A succulent slow cooked Lamb Shank on a Bed of mash and served with lightly minted peas and lashings of a thick pan reduction gravy.

It’ll be cool out (by HB standards) so, pop on a jumper. The heaters will be on as needed.

Only $38

Pair it up with a schooner of our delicious Franconian Schwarzbier.

The winter warmer theme continues for the Chef’s Special. Rib Fillet Stout Pot Pie. What happens when you take a bunch of prime cut rib fillet, oodles of garden fresh Veg and a bunch of “Consequences” Russian Imperial Stout, braise them down for hours and rock them out into pot pies?

Winter poetry in a pot under a double layer of puffy crusty goodness.Served with crispy fries and gravy.
