The next vintage starts with a decision.

At Lady’s Lane, this winter we’ve cane pruned with the season ahead in mind. After the heat stress we saw through the 2026 vintage, and with El Niño conditions ahead, the focus is on encouraging more vine vigour, more canopy and leaf coverage, and carrying less fruit.

That means accepting a lower yield, which is never a decision made lightly.

But the thinking is simple: give the vines more leaf cover, less fruit to carry, and a better chance to ripen well through another hot season on our dry grown Heathcote Vineyard, learning from the season before, and adjusting what we do next.

We’ve made the call. Now we see what the season brings.

The full journey is saved in our Bud to Bottle highlight.
We’d love to know what you think.

Tomorrow, spring begins. But first, one final winter journey by bottle.

Throughout winter, we’ve been travelling through the M. Chapoutier world, exploring a different w**e region with each stop. For our final chapter, we’re coming home to Victoria and a part of the Australian story shaped by collaboration.

Our story grew through working with respected growers and w**e families who already knew their corner of Victoria intimately, cockatoos and all. The idea was simple: bring different experience and knowledge to the same table, working with terroir and its people.

In Heathcote, collaboration with Ron and Elva Laughton of Jasper Hill created La Pléiade, bringing non-grafted vines from historic French clonal selections together with Georgia’s Paddock vines.

In Beechworth, a shared biodynamic philosophy with Giaconda created Ergo Sum, shaped by the region’s granite soils.

And in the Victorian Pyrenees, our partnership with the Terlato family created a collection of w**es that includes Lieu-dit Malakoff.

For those who would like to travel with us, our final winter collection brings together one 2015 w**e from each collaboration. Three partnerships, three Victorian landscapes and three expressions of the same season.

The Australian Collaboration Trio is available via the link in bio, alongside every region from our Winter W**e journey, until the end of this week.

Each Friday until winter ends, we’ve been travelling somewhere new through w**e. This time, we’re bringing the journey home.

Australia became M. Chapoutier’s first vineyard home outside the Rhône in 1997. Here in Victoria, the landscape was completely different, and that was the point. The focus from the beginning has been on letting each vineyard, soil and season shape the w**e in its own way.

That Australian chapter became Tournon. Named after Tournon-sur-Rhône, across the river from Tain-l’Hermitage, Tournon carries a connection back to France while the w**es speak very clearly of Victoria.

Across Tournon, our vineyards and w**ery are certified organic, with biodynamic principles at the core. We use indigenous yeasts and traditional w**emaking techniques, all Tournon w**es are vegan, and every bottle carries M. Chapoutier’s distinctive Braille label, part of a long-standing commitment to inclusivity.

For the first Australian chapter of our Winter W**e Journey, we’ve brought three of these vineyard expressions together: Three vineyards. Two Victorian regions. One way to travel the Australian side of the Chapoutier story by bottle.

The Australian collection is now available in three and six-bottle options, with full tasting notes, vineyard details and the offer via the link in our bio.

It’s been a year of ups and downs at our Heathcote Lady’s Lane, vineyard.

Heat, rain, hard decisions and a much smaller harvest than we’d hoped for. Now, finally, things get a little quieter.

The 2026 Shiraz is in barrel. From here, time gets to do its part. 🍷

Follow the full journey in our Bud to Bottle highlight.

The Southern Rhône is a region of contrasts. From the foothills of the Luberon to the limestone and scrublands of Côtes-du-Rhône, the landscape shifts, and the w**es shift with it.

Grenache runs through all three of the pairs we’re sharing this week, sometimes red, sometimes white. Around it, different places, blends and styles tell their own version of the region.

It’s a lovely part of France to travel through by bottle: familiar threads, but never quite the same w**e twice.

So, for a little winter escape, we’ve brought together three pairs that show just how varied the Southern Rhône can be.
