We have come to a crossroads at Chachi.
Without the human resources needed to operate Chachi, it has become extremely stressful to try to keep our business open in its current format.
I'm heartbroken to say that this weekend will be the last weekend we run Chachi like it is today. We may open with a limited menu over the coming weeks, stay tuned. We will also be running some private events for large groups of up to 18 people. So please gather your friends and book in by emailing me [email protected] to help me pay back my debts and finish off the wine cellar.
I would like to take this time to thank all the beautiful staff that have graced the floor and the kitchen in my tiny restaurant. This little dream of mine wouldn't have lasted this long without you all.
To the locals who came in starting from the 21st of March 2020, who kept Chachi afloat during the 6 lockdowns we endured together. All the people that come again and again from far and wide to eat our food and drink our drinks, it has been a pleasure serving you and getting to know you.
To all the people that walk around advertising the Chachi concept - I really appreciate the unpaid work you have done. The people that have taken time to write a review about the experiences they have had, they remind me why I wake up each morning and come to do the hard work I do each day.
To all the amazing suppliers of all the great local ingredients we use in our kitchen. Constantly people praise how fresh everything is. We are grateful for the relationships we have built with our community, what a wonderful town Healesville and its surrounds are.
Last but not least - to Hannah and Tikiri for putting up with my crazy hours at the restaurant over the last 4 and half years. My family and Hannah's family for all the support; financial, emotional and physical.
I'm sad this chapter is coming to an end but hopeful that different doors will open in the near future.
My warmest of regards,
Themiya (T)
