The Triado family was based in Hawthorn for many years, but has its ancestral roots in the northern Spanish province of Catalonia. In 1995 they opened the very successful Bar Kasparo, still owned by the one remaining sister in Spain. Now back in Melbourne, the seminal experience of the Kasparo years has given birth to TINTO, derived from Vino Tinto - meaning red wine in Spanish. TINTO’s main featu

re is a long bar counter where you can casually ‘hang’ with your friends or by yourself, perhaps chat to your neighbours or sit at the tables for those more inclined to intimate moments. TINTO wants to create this vibe and thereby bring a touch of the Spanish life and feel to Hawthorn, combining the culture of drinking good local and Spanish wines and serving ‘tapas’ or some larger plates called ‘raciones’ to satisfy your appetite.
