Following the death of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway on 28 August 2026, as a mark of mourning and respect, the Australian National Flag is being flown at half-mast today Wednesday 9 September 2026 Australia wide.

Also closer to home, we had the flag half mast yesterday as a mark of respect for Mal Siegmeier, so today we also mark our respect for Mal on the day of his internment at Springsure.

Gracemere RSL commemorated Malaya Borneo Veterans Day today with a short wreath-laying service attended by members of our Sub branch (including 2 Malaya Borneo veterans) along with members of RSL Rockhampton Sub Branch Inc., National Servicemen's Association of Australia Queensland Branch Rockhampton and 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment Assn. The service was followed by a bring-a-plate Asian lunch to share over drinks and camaraderie👏👍🥰 see the photos below and video clip of 7News tonight.
