The Goulburn Club's Celtic Traditions players entertaining at the Rotary Markets today.

The Celtic Traditions hold sessions at the Goulburn Club on the third Friday of every month, from 7.30pm.

Last night's Open Mic lived up to its recent history of supplying surprises aplenty. Naturally, the old hands were there, but there were also two newbies.

One, Lachlan, stunned the audience with electric guitar and singing. Not bad for a 14yo!

The other, David, on keyboard and vocals accompanied Susan. Both were given the club's traditional accolade for first-timers: a standing ovation.

Other performers were: Sarah; Mary Anne & Sophie; Marcus; Ian; Paul; Gabrielle & Harold; and Penelope.

Of course the singing and playing were great, as was expected, but Penelope's talk on the Region-Beta Paradox (google it!) was certainly from left field and enlightening.

Thanks to sound-tech, Callum, and MC, Vicki. Great work from both.

The club hosts Open Mic on the second Friday of every month.

Very exciting news for Garth and Friends at the Goulburn Club in association with Southern Tablelands Arts and Veolia Mulwaree Trust.

We have some local legends coming out to strut their stuff for the night!! A band performance from Australian Singer Songwriter and mega rock chick Kathryn Hartnett - The Official Page and Local Singer Songwriter Tony Marks will be joining us.

Our house band for the night will be the amazing Catriona Wood Andy Picker and Mike Baker so you are in for a treat!!

Last Friday at the club was the second Fifth Friday Fun night. This is when the various musical groups associated with the club each perform for 30mins. The five groups are:

* Sunday Folk
* Bush Traditions
* Glbn Regional Ukulele Band
* Verandah Band
* Celtic.

An apt description of the night would be 'rollicking'.
