📣 AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY AT GOOLWA SLSC — PERCY’S BAR & KITCHEN IS LOOKING FOR ITS NEXT TEAM

Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced and passionate hospitality operator to take the reins of Percy’s Bar & Kitchen from October 2026.

Sitting right on Goolwa Beach, Percy’s has grown into an established hospitality venue with an incredible coastal location and a strong connection to our club and local community.

And importantly — this doesn’t have to be a start from scratch.

The current operators have generously offered to hand over the Percy’s Bar & Kitchen brand, established social media platforms, menu and the foundations they have built, giving the incoming operator the opportunity to continue what Percy’s has become while putting their own stamp on its next chapter.

We’re looking for the next team to carry Percy’s forward — people with energy, hospitality experience and a passion for great food, great service and creating a venue people want to come back to.

For the right operator, this is an exciting opportunity to step into an established beachside venue and continue building its presence within the Goolwa community.

WHALE SIGHTINGS - Monday 10th August 2026

What a Whaley exciting weekend we have had with the return of one of our Southern Right Whale mums, Anu! Anu has calved in Encounter bay three times before, with her last sighting in 2019. This season she gave birth in Victoria and has arrived back to our waters👋

🐳5:40pm: One Southern Right cruising past the Rosetta Jetty, (The Bluff Jetty) Victor Harbor.

🐳🐳4:35pm: Mum and calf 800m out from Bashams Beach, Port Elliot

🐳🐳3:05pm: Southern Right Whales out from Bashams Beach, Port Elliot

🐳🐳2:40pm: CC pair breaching off Wright Island, Victor Harbor

🐳2:30pm: Whale breaching off Frenchmans Rock, Port Elliot

🐳12:52pm: One Southern Right Whale off Granite Island, near the cafe.

🐳11:55am: One Southern Right Whale out from Rosetta Avenue, heading towards Victor Harbor.

The whales are out again today! Head to Percy’s Goolwa at the Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club and enjoy a coffee and some lunch, and who knows maybe a whale sighting.

Great Coffee and Food is guaranteed the whales however……

WHALE SIGHTINGS - Sunday 9th August 2026

Have you spotted them yet? Our annual whale visitors are making waves along the Fleurieu Coast! 👀🐳

🐳🐳12:48pm: one Mum and calf pair directly out from Middleton Point, 1500m from shore.

🐳🐳🐳🐳11.54am: Both Mum and calf pairs can now be seen from Middleton Point, about 1500m east, they are about 400-500m apart.

🐳🐳11.43am: One Mum and calf pair 2km straight out from Middleton Point.

🐳🐳🐳🐳11.35am: Both Mum and calf pairs are between Miami Blvd and Goolwa Beach. 400-500m out.

🐳🐳🐳9:55am: Unconfirmed report of 3 whales out from Ladies Beach at Port Elliot.

🐳🐳🐳🐳8:45am: 2 Mum and calf pairs spotted 1km out from Goolwa Surf Lifesaving Club, about 150m apart.

Whale watching season is putting on a show, and Percy’s has front row seats!

Yesterday was packed with whale sightings right off Goolwa Beach, and the views from Percy’s at the Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club couldn’t be better.

Whether you’ve been braving the cold on the beach and need to warm up with a great coffee, or you’d rather grab a table upstairs, soak up the panoramic views and keep an eye out for the mum and calf that have been visiting our coastline, we’ve got you covered.

The grills are on, the coffee is flowing, the team is ready, and the whales are doing their thing.

Open today from 9am to 8pm.

Who knows… your next coffee might come with a whale sighting. 🐋☕

What a night!

Last Friday, the Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club was absolutely pumping for another sold-out Seaside Singalong! Thank you to everyone who came along and helped support the Goolwa Hockey Club, Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club and Percy’s. Nights like these are what our community is all about.

The good news… we’re doing it all again!
