With the warmer weather approaching, we’ll be offering Vietnamese Pho soup and Thai-style Tom Yum soup at all the farmers markets we go to from now on. Please note that ramen will not be available from September to February.

🌦️ RAIN? A LITTLE. REASON TO STAY HOME? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Tomorrow’s forecast is looking a little… moody. There might be some light rain, but we’re talking 12–18°C, not the apocalypse. 😉

And here’s the thing: 89 local stallholders are getting up early, loading vans, packing produce, baking, cooking, making and bringing their best to Woodend — and they’re relying on you to make it all worthwhile.

So grab a jacket, bring an umbrella, pull on your boots and come say hello. ☔️🧥

There’ll be plenty of good food, fresh local produce, great people, live music, face painting for the kids and an undercover seating area to keep everyone comfortable.

Dear customers,

Stephanie here.

I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support, care and love while I was battling post-op sepsis and wasn’t able to be there to welcome and host you at The Flying Pigeon couple weeks ago.

Having people around me in our community who took the time to check in, send a message, bring me food or flowers, or simply let me know they were thinking of me meant more than you probably realise.

Kindness costs nothing, but it can mean so much to someone when they need it most. I really admire the effort so many of you made to make me and others feel cared for and loved.

I’m heading in the right direction with my recovery. It’s a longer road than I had hoped, but I’m getting there, one step at a time.

Yesterday was my first full day back at work, and I was so happy to see so many familiar faces. Seeing everyone again was honestly the best welcome-back present I could have asked for. ❤️

The Flying Pigeon has always been about more than just food. It’s the people, the connections and the community that make it so special. I’m very grateful to have such wonderful customers who have supported us over the years.

I look forward to seeing everyone again soon. 💚🧡💜

At The Flying Pigeon, we like to change things up with the season / weather. Because food should be interesting, and there’s no reason to keep things exactly the same when we can have a little fun with it.

With spring almost here, we’re bringing back something rather special: our House Curry.

It was one of the very first curries we created at The Flying Pigeon, and over the years it has become a favourite for many of you.

This time, we’ve given our old favourite a little springtime twist… and a new name.

One of the secrets behind our curries is the humble art of ground spices.

We take great pride in the process. Carefully selecting, grinding, and adding each spice with intention. When the spices hit the pot, it feels a little like an oil painter placing colours onto a mixing palette before blending them together to create something beautiful.

To us, cooking is a form of art. It is not only about the final taste, but also about the journey, the inviting colours, the beautiful fragrance that fills the kitchen, and the layers of flavour that unfold with every bite.

This is the art behind our Curry Elixir.
