Yesterday, we lost one of our members, way too soon, at the age of 38. When Savanna joined our choir, she had an amazing pixie cut hairstyle, which only much later did I learn was from going through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and finally growing her hair back. Sav recovered from her first bout of stomach cancer, and came to us when she was feeling ready to face the world and life again. She had an enormous and beautiful voice, and always kept the high group in order, as was the only one who instantly remembered what we were taught!
Sadly, just before the 5 year mark of remission, her cancer returned, and spread quite aggressively. While this is more proof that life is in no way fair and just, it was an absolute honour to have known Savanna, laughed and sung with her.
For those that would want, there is to be a celebration of Savannas life at Freo Yacht Club at 11am on the 23rd of March.

Summer Art Camp starts Next Week

Our Summer Art Camp starts next Tuesday the 9th of January, and runs for 3 Days a week over the next 2 weeks of the school holidays. Merry Merry Christmas everybody! We miss singing with you and catching up and chit chatting - but most of all that amazing energy we made when we got the song right and just bloody nailed it!
I will be having our usual Christmas/ New Years get together, prob mid to late Jan, so watch this space, as we would love to see all your faces again!

It's with great sadness that I'm letting you know that one of our members, Joyce Keith, passed away on November the 15th. Joyce was diagnosed with MND, but it is my understanding that she only told close friends and family of her diagnosis.
Joyce was a nurse and senior health professional who loved travelling, skydiving, her family, fashion, colour and of course singing. Joyce was a lovely part of our community and was always happy and laughing at choir. Sending lots of love to her 2 sons and family and friends. Xx

What are you doing on Saturday night? We are hosting a Musical Theatre Dance Party and will be dancing and singing to lots and lots of Musical Theatre show stoppers! The DJ will be taking requests, and we will have a great mix of old and new show tunes… everything from Mary Poppins to Sixx to Dear Evan Hansen, The Rocky Horror Picture show, and everything in between! If you can think of a musical movie, we may have thrown a few of those crackers into the mix too… Footloose, Priscilla, Grease, The Sound of Music - what a Musical Theatre adventure!
Dress up as your favourite character if you want to really get into it!
Evenings like this have been held in NYC, and recently in Melbourne, and we are hoping to turn this into at least an annual event should it be as raging a success as we are hoping! Please share around with anyone that may be interested.
