Mango was friends with all of life’s peoples - his network was expansive like an octopus’ tentacles. When he died, the reverberations reached all.

In the grief, we banded together and supported each other….. and in the aftermath made commitments to stick together and catch up regularly for support and to remember Mango.

Unfortunately, that fell apart as we all got back to our busy lives and stayed isolated, dealing with the sorrow in our own silos.

This changes with “Mango’s Octopus” - A music night where the focus is of bringing friends, and friends of friends together for human connection, support, creativity, collaboration, and also of remembering our departed loved ones.

Mango’s friends and friends of friends will perform. It will be fully inclusive - you will see some seasoned musicians, you will see some new-to-the-stage performers. What they will have in common is a connection through the tentacular network of mangos octopus 🐙

We are all connected - Let’s catch up, let’s hang out, let’s encourage and support each other.

Help raise funds for Project 491, a charitable initiative launched by AusPath to provide gender affirming care to trans youth following the Queensland Government’s cruel decision to ban all such treatments in the public system last year. By September 2025, Project 491 announced they had helped 20 families to continue with private care. care. However, the issue has become more urgent when the Northern Territory government made the same decision to ban youth care in December.

Located upstairs at the Buffalo Club, this gig will feature talented gender-diverse acts Lauren & the Goodfights, Monstar, Johnny Roswell, and Infinitee (DJ). Additionally, you will find pop-up stalls such as second-hand clothing (more to be announced).

Tickets will be available on the door for the same price.

All of the money received from tickets will go directly towards Project 491 donations and paying the acts. The organizers will receive no portion of the funds.

We are once again asking for your hands! Buff is a beast and we need beasty people to help it breathe and run.

If you have a skill you think may be useful, or even just a desire to keep community spaces thriving, we want you at our Vollie Day this Sunday. Come see how you can help, everyone is appreciated.

There’s beer and pizza in it, too. No good deed goes unrewarded. That’s the phrase, right?

See you there! 🫶
