After an extended intermission, Shandy is finally emerging from backstage, touching up our makeup, and preparing for our grand return to the dancefloor.

And naturally, we couldn’t come back quietly. We’re making our return in an actual theatre, with live performers, DJs, dramatic entrances, questionable audience participation, and enough theatricality to put The West End to shame - all in the heart of our West End no less!

The velvet curtains. The footlights. The anticipation of an audience gathering in the dark. The knowledge that, for one brief evening, anything could happen once the curtain rises.

When he’s on duty, expect bodies in motion and shirts in surrender. The alter ego of Shandy founder Thomas Parer, Sweaty Baby serves groove-heavy disco, house, camp pop edits and left-field heaters - equal parts joy, mischief and dancefloor democracy.

Thomas started SHANDY in 2019 with a dream: to build a q***r dance party that’s joyful, sweaty, and soaked in community care. Since then, he’s torn up venues across Magan-djin/Brisbane and the country from the dark dancefloor of BBL to the glittering lights of Sydney Mardi Gras After Party - with sets that lure you in and leave you soaked, smiling, and slightly out of breath 💃💦
