We brew a range of high quality fresh beers on a 10bbl (1,200 litre brew house). Co-founder, David Black hung up his suit after over 25 years as a chartered accountant with a Big 4 accounting firm to be the Brewer. After many years’ home brewing and tasting craft beers, and having completed the Federation University Graduate Certificate in Brewing, he took up his life-calling.

Bungwahl Fuel & Liquor Store is now carrying (as well Palms Pale, Treachery XPA and Boomerang Beach Pale Ale) our limited release 'Bungwahl Barrel Aged Baltic Porter' (8.3% ABV). Brewed to celebrate our ninth birthday, this baltic porter has been aged in ex bourbon barrels and ex maple syrup/ ex bourbon barrels from the USA for 12 months. True to style this is a smooth, full-bodied porter with a strong malt back backbone balanced with the bourbon and subtle hints of maple.

In line with our beer naming convention, where our beers are named after a local geographic landmark, we named this one after Bungwahl simply because we have a customer who has been asking us for a few years for a 'Bungwahl' beer .....so here it is!

Fashionably late for our 9th birthday (which was last weekend) we today canned Triple Nelson - our new 9% all Nelson Sauvin hopped triple IPA !
Brewed with Nelson Sauvin hop pellets from , Super Sauvin hop pellets from , Amplifire Nelson hop oil from Clayton Hops NZ and Fresh Nelson Sauvin cold pressed hop juice from it's loaded with flavour !

Available from the taproom this weekend (Friday & Saturday 11am - 6pm) and hitting bottle shops next week

On Saturday (13 June, 6pm - 9pm) we will be running the pop-up bar at the Akoo Quiz event run by the fabulous team behind Wingham Music Festival.

We'll also have wine from Great Lakes Paddocks as well as soft drink from Saxby's Soft Drinks at the pop-up!

'Redstone Dubbel' (ABV 7.5%) NOW POURING in the brewery taproom! This Belgian-style Dubbel was the winning submission by Brad McCarron in the 2026 Coastal Brewing Co Home Brew Competition. Over the last few weeks, together with Brad, we have created a commercial batch of his winning submission. Dark amber / red in colour this Dubbel has just the right amount of rich malty sweetness, dark fruit esters mild spicey phenols and a moderately dry finish. Named ‘Redstone’ after the name attributed to the McCarron acreage in the Coolongolook Riverlands estate.
