In lieu of our Fashions on the Field this year, and as a way to give back to our wonderful community we are changing things up!

There will be 30x $25 Vouchers given away at our race day on Saturday the 10th of October. You don't need to do anything special to enter, just be at the races and you may be a lucky winner who is approached by one of our committee members.

VALE: Corporal Brendan Hannam

Yesterday a 28-year-old Australian soldier who served in Afghanistan has died during a training exercise in the Northern Territory.

Army Chief Susan Coyle said she could confirm “with deep and profound sadness” that Corporal Brendan Hannam died on Monday afternoon when his vehicle rolled over at a military training site in the NT.

Hannam, a junior non-commissioned officer, was killed during the exercise at the Mount Bundey Training Area, in which five other soldiers were injured.

Another Parkes Elvis Festival is on its way 🎸

Deputy Mayor Chris Roylance and Councillor Marg Duggan attended the official launch of the Parkes Elvis Festival 2027 program last week, celebrating the strong partnership between Forbes and Parkes that helps make the festival such a success.

We look forward to welcoming Elvis fans back to Forbes in 2027 and being part of another fantastic festival experience across the region.
