After a great deal of reflection and planning, we’ve made the decision that Gay Ski Week Australia will rest in 2026 while we review and reimagine the next chapter of the event.

This certainly hasn’t been an easy decision.

Since 2009, Gay Ski Week Australia has brought together an incredible community of snow lovers, first-timers, seasoned skiers, mountain locals, and fabulous humans from across Australia and beyond. From powder days and après adventures to lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories at Falls Creek, we’re incredibly proud of what this community has created together over the years.

However, we also recognise that the way the event operates needs to evolve to ensure it remains sustainable, meaningful, and able to deliver the experience our guests deserve.

Rather than rushing to deliver a version of the festival that doesn’t fully meet that standard, we’re taking some time to thoughtfully explore new ideas, stronger partnerships, and future opportunities for q***r snow experiences both in Australia and overseas.

Importantly, this isn’t goodbye to the mountains.

Some members of our extended crew are still keen to visit Falls Creek during the season or spring period, and there may still be some smaller q***r happenings, mountain meetups, and fabulous snow moments along the way.

And of course, the adventures continue beyond the mountain too. Points of Difference Travel & Events continues to grow with hosted cruises, luxury escapes, cultural journeys, and snow adventures around the world - from Japan powder trips to Winter Pride experiences and beyond.

Update: Gay Ski Week Australia 2025 - This year’s event has been postponed.

Despite early interest, we didn’t receive the confirmed bookings needed to confidently proceed. We’re already working on future plans and look forward to bringing the festival back stronger in 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
