MARANANGA - Our Farm, Our Home, Our Life
One of the largest Belted Galloway Studs in Australia, Marananga, is ideally located next to Launceston Airport the northern gateway for tourists to the bountiful and beautiful treasures of island Tasmania. The property also borders the historic and picturesque village of Evandale where it’s roadside paddocks of Belted Galloways not only command attention of many a passer-by but have added a special touch to the old world charm of the village! Marananga is a working farm of 650 acres, it's stud of Belted Galloways was established in 2000 and currently has 60 breeding cows. The herd and it’s progeny have since gone on to achieve both recognition and success winning many major prizes at both local and national Royal shows. In addition to the Belted Galloways the property breeds stud Suffolk and Hampshire Down sheep which once again have achieved major accolades at many national Royal shows. Marananga has also successfully exported sheep to China, Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand and Falkland Islands for breeding purposes. Campbell Town Show 2026 was once again an enjoyable day for Marananga. We only took a small team this year with just a handful of ewes. If the season had been kinder we would have taken our usual full team with the inclusion of rams. We were awarded 1st and 3rd in the largest Hampshire Down ewe class of 10 entries with a 4 yr old ewe and a 6 yr old ewe and we were also awarded Reserve Champion ewe with a maiden shore ewe so came away with a smile! A big thank you to our wonderful helpers - Duncan, George and Jess from Chemvet - we couldn't have managed without you. Congratulations to all who exhibited, it certainly made for an entertaining and sociable day. Here's to 2027!

Our beautiful 'keeper' Suffolk ewes, 3-9 yrs old and all due to lamb in August. Now in one mob but were out in 3 different ram groups. Looking really well considering the dry conditions and enjoying a hay bonus every couple of days!
