Thank you to the Cassowary Coast Business Women's Network for joining us at the Tavern last night for your *Who Am I?* event.

It was so great to see real conversations, new connections, familiar faces and plenty of laughter, with everyone enjoying themselves over a few glasses of w**e and some good food.

A big thank you to everyone who came out on a Tuesday night to be part of such a wonderful evening, and of course, thank you to CCBWN for choosing to host your event here at the Tavern.

We loved having you all through the doors and creating a space for everyone to relax, connect and have a bloody good night!

These legends have been reeling in the kilometres — from Airlie Beach to Mission Beach, with a fish down at Barra DownUnder, before landing themselves into the Tavern for a bite!

Talk about a bloody great FNQ day out.

🐊 The whole smoked crocodiles are all snapped up this week, they must be pre booked at least week in advance. Contact us via the crocodile enquiry link on the page.

ANOTHER CRAZY WEEKEND AT THE TAVERN!

Oh boy… have we got some videos from this weekend!

Some I definitely can’t share…
But there’s plenty that I can, and they’re coming your way soon!

In the meantime, here’s a little look at some of the croc action from the weekend. We had people come through from all over the world, just to get a taste of the crocodile! Have you tried it yet?

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us, shared a feed, had a few cold ones and helped make another weekend at the old girl one to remember.

And holy hell… have we got one big week and one BIG year ahead of us!

There’s plenty happening behind the scenes, plenty we can’t tell you just yet, and plenty more good times to come.

WHAT A DAY!

A massive thank you to Cardwell Volksfest for choosing to come in and join us for lunch today! It was bloody great having you all through the doors.

A very special thank you to Col for gifting us the most amazing miniature El Arish Tavern, what an absolute ripper! We’ll treasure this little piece of the old girl!

And congratulations to Steve Harle on taking home the very first BFM from Tully Tender Cut Butcher.

But wait… check out this bloke…

He returned to the Tavern today and discovered a photo hanging on our wall that was taken way back in **1960!**

How bloody cool is that?! Imagine walking back into a place and finding a little piece of history staring straight back at you.

That’s what we love about this old pub — you never quite know what bit of history, story or character is going to walk through the door.

What a day at the El Arish Tavern!

HAPPY 99TH BIRTHDAY, EL ARISH TAVERN

Today we celebrate 99 years of the old girl!

Since opening her doors in 1927, the Tavern has stood as a place for locals, travellers, families, celebrations, stories, good times and, of course, plenty of cold b**rs!

And what better way to celebrate than taking a little trip back to where it all began…the 1920s!

We thought we’d jump on the “ChatGPT, make me someone from the 80s” trend — but considering it’s the Tavern’s birthday, we figured the 20s were far more fitting!

So here we are… apparently this is what we might have looked like back when the Tavern was just getting started! 😉

Happy 99th Birthday to the Tavern today and we have plenty more to celebrate coming up soon…

Here’s to 99 years of history, characters, memories and good old country pub hospitality.

Here at the El Arish Tavern, we’re more than just a pub. We’re a place where people can come in, have a yarn, share a laugh, have a drink, and simply sit down and know they’re welcome.

So if you’re having a rough day, feeling a little off, or just need someone to talk to — come and check in with us. And while you’re here, check in with the person sitting beside you too.

We’re a small community, and that means we can be one big support network for each other.

You never really know what someone else might be carrying, so a simple “Are you OK?” can mean more than you realise.
