Thankyou to every single one of our amazing community to come in and support us this week.

But … This bloke! That smile does NOT match his “I’m not hungry” appetite 😂

Darryl has been a loyal customer since we took over back in 2019. He was the first brave soul to take on our Giant Laksa Challenge in October 2022… and, well—he failed miserably 🤦‍♀️

But he wasn’t done yet.
At the 2022 Laksa Festival, he came back for round two. Slightly smaller bowl (only about 3 regular bowls 😅)… and he SMASHED it.
We didn’t see him for a few months after that—safe to say he was well and truly laksa’d out.

But like all good things, he came back. Weekly chats, that cheeky grin, always a pleasure to see.

And today… he helped us go out with a bang 💥

The very first local, everyday human (not a professional eater!) to conquer the Giant Laksa—finishing in 29 minutes and 45 seconds 👏

You’re an absolute champion, mate 🙌

This is a shoutout to our staff… current and past.

Today we smashed our Laksa record… for the second time THIS WEEK 🔥
And there’s no way we could’ve done it without our incredible team.

Long time or short time — you all become family.
You come, you go, and somehow you always find your way back.
You grow, start families, chase new opportunities, move interstate… but you’ll always be part of us.

Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to work alongside so many genuinely beautiful people — and that’s what’s made this place what it is.

This shoutout is for all of you — our current team and everyone who’s been part of the journey.

Shout out to this bloke 👇

Nes — the man behind our laksa.

We took over back in November 2019, right as the world was shutting down. Uncertain times, big risks… but Nes had a vision — to turn our little cafeteria into the place to be.

Over the next 6 months, he poured everything into perfecting the recipe. What came out of that? One of the most loved laksas in Darwin ❤️

Over the past 6 years, we’ve watched so many of you come through our doors — some daily, some returning after years away. You’ve brought your families, your workmates, your friends visiting from interstate. We’ve been part of your lunch breaks, meetings, birthdays, even anniversaries.

Tucked away in our little industrial pocket, surrounded by businesses big and small — this place became more than just a lunch spot.

And that’s because of Nes.

He knows your names, your orders, your stories — where you work, where you’re from. It’s his warmth, his chats, his energy that made this place what it is.

It really did become the place to be.

This is a regretful post to our amazing community.

We had made the hard decision, to close Lisa’s Lunch Bar. Our last trading day will be Friday April 17th.

This business has been such a big part of our lives, and we are incredibly grateful for every single customer who has supported us, as well as all of our past and present staff who have been part of the journey.

Over the years, we’ve been lucky to build so many genuine connections — not just with our customers, but with other local small businesses and the wider community. Those relationships and friendships are something we’ll truly cherish.

As a family-run business, the time has come for us to put our family first and move on to new opportunities and the next chapter.

We’ll be trading for the next two weeks, so there’s still time to come in and enjoy your favourite Darwin-renowned laksa one more time 🍜

Thank you for all the love, support, and memories over the years — it truly means the world to us.
