Thank you voco Darwin Suites by IHG for having us to the official opening of Darwin’s newest Hotel, and the Aviary Bar and Brasserie this evening.

It looks like a fantastic venue which will complement Darwin’s hotel scene, adding another option to the premium range (and a great spot for food and drinks) while also marking the legacy of the late John Halikos, a giant of the construction industry.

It's about to heat up in the kitchen 🌶The hunt is on for the NT’s most outstanding culinary talent! Nominations are now open for Gold Plate Awards Chef of the Year – an award celebrating innovation, leadership, and passion in our vibrant hospitality industry.

We’re looking for chefs who:
👨‍🍳Inspire their teams with dedication and enthusiasm
🍳Showcase exceptional kitchen management and creativity
🔪Push boundaries with cutting-edge culinary skills

🔥The Challenge:
Nominated chefs will compete in an exciting live cook-off on Thursday, 16th July (8:30 AM – 1:30 PM) at Charles Darwin University's Karawa Restaurant.
