Yesterday, the Club Krock committee had the absolute honour of attending the Northern Territory Disability Inclusion Awards, where Club Krock was recognised as a finalist in the Inclusive Communities Award.
What a beautiful night celebrating so many incredible people and organisations across the Northern Territory who are creating change, building inclusion and making our community a better place.
Being named a finalist was such a special moment for Club Krock — and it also gave us a chance to stop and remember where we came from.
Club Krock started with an idea: to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive place where adults could enjoy a proper night out — dance, catch up with friends, meet new people, make their own choices and simply have fun.
Our very first support from the Northern Territory Government and the Nightcliff Lions Club helped lay the foundations for what Club Krock has become today.
Five years later, we are still dancing — and we could not do it without the incredible support of our ongoing sponsors: Jacana Energy, ZipPrint Darwin NT, DCOH and our supporter from the beginning offering us an all accessible space- Club Tropical Resort Darwin
To our volunteers and committee members who put in so much work behind the scenes — THANK YOU.
To the organisations, support workers, carers, parents and families who support people to come along and enjoy a night out — THANK YOU.
And most importantly, to every single person who walks through the doors of Club Krock, has a dance, catches up with friends and brings the party to life…
Being a finalist belongs to all of us.
We are incredibly proud of how far Club Krock has come and even more excited about where we are heading next.
And if you haven’t experienced Club Krock yet… you are officially invited!
Our next event is 9 October. Come and experience a little bit of the Club Krock magic for yourself.
