La Sirene fruited varieties:

Natty Yuzu: This crisp and flavoursome lager balances biscuity grain characters with layers of yuzu freshness.

Little Raspberry Sour Ale: Light, dry and brimming with whole raspberries, this berry banger is the one to reach for when needing a fruity hit!

Mango Citray Sour: The heady citrus aromatics emerging from this light-orange, hazy sour ale will transport you straight to the citrus orchard.

8 Wired Fistful of Raspberries Sour:

A sour ale brewed in the Belgian tradition. Aged in wine barrels, then refermented with pureed raspberries. Vibrant flavours  of funk and fruit. Contains a fistful of raspberries per bottle. no more, no less. Depending on the size of ones fist of course.

Working Title Varieties:

WEST COAST IPA
A touch of wheat with a tickle of munich, mashed with a high temp to give malt sweetness for the heavy hop rates. Whirlpool and DDH additions of Amarillo, Mosaic and CryoPOP garners pine, oranage zest, candied orange and tropical characters for a complexity belying the strength.

AMERICAN IPA
Wheat, Munich and Biscuit  malts combine with generous hot side addition of Columbus, Citra, Simcoe and Cascade. Pushing mid 60 IBUs for balance, the savoury malts give texture and position for the dank, woody and piney hops. Columbus really shines in a pine forest of aroma and flavour, with mid palate citrus bursts, stonefruit and a satiating bitter finish.

SAN DIEGO IPA
A magnesium and sulphate heavy water profile gives a snappy structure for this classic San Diego IPA. Punchy northwest hops of Citra and Simcoe give layers of pine, resin, citrus, with bright orange zest and zippy lime. Modern affiliations of CryoPO

We’re happy to welcome Reckless Brewing Co. to The Hippo, to commemorate, join us for happy hour this Friday 24th [3:30-6:30] and get a complimentary tasting of the new range available in-store!

Hazy Pale: As easygoing as a Sunday Sesh, this hazy pale brings the fruit without the fuss. Bursting with tropical hop aroma and a soft, pillowy body - it’s juicy, smooth and a laid-back crowd pleaser.

Baltic Porter: From the depths of Europe comes the dark design of this richly flavoured beer, a historic staple reimagined with the Reckless touch in our signature style. A lagered symphony of lush malts rolls across the palate with layers of dark toffee, bittersweet chocolate and smooth vanilla, wrapped in subtle smoky undertones.

West Coast Dark Lager: Built like a West Coast Pilsner. Just darker and way more Reckless. Packed with NZ and American hops, this Dark Lager punches out citrus, pine, resin and tropical fruit over subtle roast and toasted malt character without being heavy.

New World IPA: Showcasing both classic and modern New World hops, this IPA is packed with punchy pineapple and tropical fruit aromas, with a hit of bright citrus in the mix. A solid bitterness tracks to keep things balanced, backed by a clean malt base for an easy, refreshing finish.

Bodriggy The Ripple Effect Red IPA: The latest hop mix features Ekuanot, Centennial, HBC 638 and Mosaic and they deliver orange zest, sweet mandarin, pine, nectarine and a mix of tropical fruit. The specialty malts, meanwhile, don’t just make for a vibrant red pour but bring toffee, caramel and freshly-baked bread.

3806 Brewing Amber Ale: Locally brewed in Berwick. Caramel and toasty malts with medium bitterness. Light, zesty and citrusy, hoppy flavours. Medium fruity esters, perfect for the cooler nights

Yulli’s Brew Varieties: Karaoke Kingu Rice Lager is a clean and easy drinking lager Brewed with all Australian malts, the finest NZ hops and locally malted rice, the Kingu goes down super smooth.
