So lovely to see that old furniture can have so many memories when looking back... This has stayed in the family and the great grand daughter of its original owner has lovingly wanted it brought back to life!
This chair I received after someone had already done the wood repair and lacquer so it was stripped to bare frame when I took on the project to do the upholstery. I had to re-do new webbing, sew the springs back in and new hessian as well as replaced the missing padding of the seat, and re cover in a lovely bottle green upholstery fabric. I even included a little piece of its previous fabric sewn in there with a little note for the next time it gets an updated cover. This hand made Jarrah furniture can have another 100 years left of life now and stay in the family to keep getting updated (versus the modern furniture filled with cardboard glue and plywood on the inside that just goes into landfill)
