Ok lets begin this
The chips were just a standard straight cut chip, however a beautiful golden brown complimented with a beautiful crispy crunch that your neighbours could hear. Superb. The steak was a beautiful sirloin cut slow cooked over an open flame well done, soft, tender, juicy, golden brown the whole way....mmm wow.... the prawns were sliced and spiralling adding to an unexpected and amazing experience, cooked to perfection. The sauce....I say this often needs to be a little bit thicker. But it was a flavoursome suace nether the less. Overall it has been quite the experience and flavourfest going on. Great venue and such amazing service. Top 3 in all of W.A CONGRATULATIONS PIRATE LIFE PERTH. WELL DESERVED.

Well, not many places make it on this page. But this does deserve a shout out. The chef at Marri Park Tavern, has brought back some honour to their Surf'n'Turf. Porterhouse steak well done, 4x prawns and of course chips (no salad, gotta do it right). The porterhouse steak was divine, well cooked throughout and still soft and juicy. It was fantastic. The prawns (as mentioned), 4x tiger prawns, very tasty. The chips were like French fries, (I preferred steakhouse chips)were quite nice. Some crispness in the golden glow of the chips with a soft centre, quite reasonable. The sauce, you could actually taste it was a garlic sauce instead of a cream sauce without flavour like some places do. It could have been a bit thicker but it was still pretty good. Overall, im happy to say the chef has brought back some honour and has put marri park tavern at 3rd spot. It was pleasant to have a decent Surf'n'Turf again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Tonight we had dinner at the Gilgai Tavern kalbarri. 350g rump steak and chips with creamy garlic prawns. The steak was well done, cooked beautifully. With 7x prawns layered on top was quite the treat. Good serving of chips lathered with creamy garlic sauce that oozed off the steak and prawns. The sauce lacked thickness but was plentiful. I was honoured to come back before you guys do actually sell up. I'll miss you guys, hopefully after it does sell the new owners maintain such vibrant service and entertainment along with such beautiful food. Thank you guys. Good luck in your future endeavours.

We are returning to Gilgai Tavern kalbarri tomorrow night to give them another chance. Let's see 8f they can impress me and get into the top 5 best of wa Surf'n'Turf.

Ok, tonight we tried TheCray Rockingham for their Surf'n'Turf. To start, it's a beautiful venue. So tonight we had a succulent sirloin cooked a golden brown all the way through, so soft and juicy. Beautiful steak. The chips were beautifully golden steakhouse and had a great crunch on the outside. With 2x large prawns that gave me the impression that they could possibly have been banana prawns, they were so large and very enjoyable. Accompanied with a Morton bay bug. The sauce was definitely creamy. What was suppose to be creamy garlic sauce, after a mistake by the kitchen turned out to be like they warmed up some cream and simply used that. There was no garlic and definitely no flavour and certainly lacked thickness. Even the waitress had agreed that it wasn't right, she was also upset by this happening as its not the service they wish to provide. I'll give another chance soon, but for now definitely not in my top 5 of W.A.

Tonight we tried The Rec Northam for their Surf'n'Turf. I ordered their T-bone steak and chips with garlic sauce. The chips were good, crispy on outside soft on the inside. The T-bone was still running around next to its mother so sent it back to the butchers. With 3x tiger prawns, not to bad but lacking effort compared to the other taverns or hotel/pubs in the area. The sauce was definitely not creamy or thick. Lacking thickness and consistency was just one problem, it also lacked flavour. Definitely needs work.

Today we tried the Surf'n'Turf at the riverside hotel northam for lunch. Scotch fillet with chips and creamy garlic prawns. The chips were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, I love my chips like this. However not the thick steak house chips, they were still good. The steak was amazing golden brown right the way through, still juicy on the inside and not overly cooked on the outside. The prawns were 7x tiger prawns, tasted quite nice. The sauce was a bit lact luster. Lacking thickness and consistency and biggest of all lacked real flavour. Overall still not in top 5 but amazing job cooking that steak.

Once a favourite spot of mine and a big reason why I started the search for the best Surf'n'Turf of w.a. under new management from last year when I wrote my google reviews for them, I tried Northam Tavern & Bottlemart Surf'n'Turf. Sirloin steak, creamy garlic prawns and chips. The Sirloin was well done, perfectly cooked. Chips were nice, crisp and crunchy with a garnish of herbs sprinkled over them which gave off a very nice flavour. With 5x prawns topping the steak, the prawns were good. The sauce had a hint of salt to it, and not as much as past experiences. Come on guys where's the scallops and the calamari that made your Surf'n'Turf so unique? Sadly dropped out of my top 5 rankings from shared top spot, this was disappointing for me. Bring back the unique Surf'n'Turf that I fell in love with, please. Then call me for another try.

Ok ladies and gentlemen tonight we start the critique of northam's Surf'n'Turf starting with an old favourite Northam Tavern & Bottlemart. Ranked equal top spot in the past. Lets see if they have maintained their right to be classed equal best of w.a.

Today we tried lunch at Brook 508 restaurant and Cafe https://www.facebook.com/brook508cafeandrestaurant?mibextid=ZbWKwL. We originally were going in for one of their amazing burgers but was prompted when I seen their menu. Surf'n'Turf... YES PLEASE! The venue has transformed over the years and looks beautiful now. The service was amazing, polite, thoughtful and fast. Fantastic service, amazing. The star of today's adventure was the Surf'n'Turf. The rump steak (well done) was perfectly cooked, not overly burnt and so soft and tender. Superb. The chips were amazing, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Fantastic. The sauce...WELL they definitely make sure there is plenty of sauce. The creamy garlic sauce on the plate was a beautiful thick creamy flavourful odyssey. The surf side of this pleasure voyage was impressive and surprising, 4x large squid rings, 3x large tiger prawns and 2x mussels to ad to the mix along with another large serving of garlic sauce. The squid rings were fabulous (had to cut into quarters). The prawns were also fantastic and quite the size. The biggest surprise was the mussels, I never expected that. They were phenomenal. The sauce in this dish could have been thicker though. Overall rating from me is they are definitely in my top 5 places! They have taken out 4th spot in the best of wa in Surf'n'Turf W.A. well done Brook 508 be proud of yourselves you all deserve this rating. Very impressed and very happy to have had the chance to have eaten at this establishment.
