Loved the movie’s at Elsie’s Film House? Feeling sad that’s it’s all coming to an end? The good news is that Elsie’s founder Alice Taylor, will be moving over to program films for Arc Cinema at the NFSA (National of Film and Sound Archive). It’s a match made in heaven! You can follow NFSA Canberra to get your fix of retro film favourites in the stunning art deco Arc Cinema. Alice’s programming will kick off in the Summer series. See you there ✌️🍿

Elsie's Film House founder lands job she's been coveting.

Elsie’s Film House presents our last day of cinema with our DOCUMENTARY BINGE-FEST ✨🍿❤️

Celebrate the end of an era, and join us for the following documentaries:

🎥 12:15pm - THE THIN BLUE LINE

🎥 2:30pm - MAN ON WIRE

🎥 4:30pm - THE WOLFPACK

🎥 6:30pm - SHUT UP LITTLE MAN!

THE THIN BLUE LINE changed the game in documentary filmmaking forever upon its release, presenting the true crime of a police officer’s murder in Dallas.

MAN ON WIRE is a much loved documentary following rebel without a cause Philippe Petit’s daredevil plan to (illegally) tightrope walk across New York’s Twin Towers.

THE WOLFPACK follows the Angulo brothers, who grew up homeschooled in a Manhattan apartment, watching films to learn about the world.

In SHUT UP LITTLE MAN! friends accidentally create the world’s first viral sensation when they tape-record the fights between their noisy neighbours.

Tickets are on sale now through the link in our bio, and can be purchased for the individual films or as a Binge-Fest pack! ✨⚡️

An instant modern classic when it was released in 2021, Joachim Trier’s THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD is playing at Elsie’s this Friday night at 6pm 🎉🕺

This gem follows Julie, as she grapples with the complexities and challenges of late 20s life. Endlessly relatable, refreshing, cathartic and funny, THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD reminds you of the irony and humour in life, the immediacy of the present and the importance of sensitivity, art and light in the world 🌎
