I’ve put this off for far too long. Covid forced me to park up the Kombi and find a full time job. I’ve held off selling the business in the hope that I could keep the beer flowing and work full time, but it hasn’t worked out.

I’ve recently spent $3000 on the van getting the brakes fixed, engine running nicely and everything working as it should. It’s been unregistered for over a year, so I will get a roadworthy certificate before selling.

Our Canberra Pale Ale, Barley Griffin has been recognised as one of the world's best beers at the The International Brewing & Cider Awards last week. Of the 133 medals awarded earlier in the year, the Championship winner recognises nine beers and three ciders as outstanding examples in their respective categories.

“BentSpoke are truly honoured to be recognised as being at the top of its class at the oldest brewing awards in the world,” said head brewer, Richard Watkins. “Winning an award like this is a testament to how committed the whole brew team are. Our team are obsessed with giving people the best brew - every single time.”

“The Championship Trophy winners’ announcement is the culmination of a lengthy judging process, where our panel of 50 industry professionals vote for those beers and ciders that they would be prepared to stake their future success on. Our Championship Trophy winners represent the crème de la crème of their respective categories,” said Ruth Evans MBE, Director of Brewing Technology Services who oversees the awards.

BentSpoke are really proud to be able to represent the Australian craft beer industry on the international stage.

Last night & united to celebrate taking away the shared title of Canberra’s Best Beer at the AHA ACT Hospitality Awards.💃

Both breweries have been working for years to serve the local community and increase the reputation of Canberra craft beer nationally.

What a great excuse to sink some tinnies and continue this work together into the future.
