Hey pals, our new venue The Great Club is getting some excellent coverage at the moment. If you're keen to visit but haven't yet, this Broadsheet Sydney write up will tell you more and show you how we repurposed The Newsagency's old decor!

We hope to see you there soon.

It had been empty for almost two years when a pair of music-industry veterans took it over. Now it’s devoted to live music, and there’s a menu of Australiana-inspired cocktails and a local chef turning out an ever-changing menu of Greek hits, where the only rules are “freshness and salt”.

Exciting news, pals! We're launching a brand new live music venue this summer called The Great Club.

Since closing The Newsagency we’ve been busy trying to find a new home. Once we found our new place it became clear the name didn’t really fit so we’ve decided to let that go. We will be building on its legacy, while creating something bigger and better for live musicians, their audiences and our new locals in Marrickville. (the 10th coolest suburb in the world).

Hey pals,

We did say we were going to be open tonight BUT youse are all legends and have drunk the bar dry over the last three days. 🥃 🍻 🍷

We have officially exhausted our liquor supply and, if we're honest, our emotional energy after dealing with the massive response to our news about closing.

We really are overwhelmed with how much love and support has been dished out to us this week. Thank you everyone for sharing your love and special memories about The Newsagency with us. 😘
