Just another H***y Tonk Bar on Broadway in Nashville TN. First visit we were smitten with the décor and format. Most drinks came direct from a large S.S. ice trough behind the bar. It was just after midday (Best time to have a beer) it was USA Summer and HOT HOT HOT, the ice-cold beer was the best tonic possible for the conditions. We toiled around a few more bars but always gravitated back to Roberts as the beer was the coldest….Small bar with an elevated stage in the front corner that had the place rocking with both kinds of music starting at 10.30am everyday. Google …….Dave Tanner Nashville…EFFINGHAM and you get the idea! Google search -Seneca Lodge, New York State. Seneca lodge
Seneca Lodge (Hunting Lodge) was and still is the meeting place for the game hunters of the area to show off their prize catch from the hunting season. The Lodge also has the reputation for the BEST roast duck in all of New York State! The Hunting Lodge is also just up the road from Watkins Glen (Formula 1 race track of the 70s) the meeting place for Formula 1 drivers after racing to celebrate winning AND still being alive after the race. Enter the bar area and you will see hundreds of arrows fired into the wall behind the bar. Apparently during celebrations of the “BIGGEST RACK” bought to the bar for recognition by the hunters of who landed the biggest Buck they often got a little excited and fired off a few arrows into the wall. As time went by the arrows ended up with allsorts of items hanging from them, the most important memorabilia being ORIGINAL LEAF WINNERS REATHS, belonging to Niki Lauda, James Hunt, Jackie Stewart to name a few. The hunters have now calmed down on the random shooting in the Bar BUT to maintain the tradition to this day THE hunter that shows the biggest rack is allowed to shoot ONE arrow into the bar at the end of each hunting season!
