September Jam Day is this Sunday. 🎸

Come down to Froth Craft Brewery this Sunday afternoon for the state's biggest regular blues jam session — whether you're picking up an instrument, stepping up to a mic, or just coming along to enjoy a great afternoon of live music.

All instruments, all levels, all welcome. First timers, regulars, impromptu groups — it all belongs at a jam day. Backline and amps are provided, just bring your gear and your enthusiasm.

And there's a new reason to grab a drink while you're there — ask the Froth team about their new loyalty program and start earning cash back on every purchase. 🍺

September Blues Central is locked in and this one’s got a great story behind it. 🎸

Firewater make their Blues Central debut this month — and it’s been a long time coming. Bob Armstrong’s band have never played a Blues Central before, and if you know these guys you’ll know the wait has been worth it. They’ll be joined on the afternoon by a special guest appearance from Neil Broad, one of the club’s busiest musicians. What that sounds like on the day, we’ll let you discover for yourselves.

Then Micho Lupo step up in the second slot — and at short notice too, which tells you everything about the kind of community this club is built on. Marisa, Mark and the band bring the fire every single time and this Sunday will be no different.

Plans change. Blues Central rolls on. 🎶

We know a lot of you were looking forward to an afternoon in the sunshine with the band, and so were we — but an outdoor show needs outdoor weather, and this weekend just isn’t playing along.

Hopefully a new date will be announced as soon as it’s locked in, so keep an eye on this page. Thanks for your understanding, and we’ll see you all there when the sun comes back out. ☀️🎸

Not a club night, but this one’s worth flagging for our crowd. 🎸

Michael Vdelli and The Art of Dysfunction are teaming up with Blue Shaddy for back-to-back shows this weekend — and both are close enough for our members to get to.

Some of you will already know Art of Dysfunction — they played Blues Central back in July as our guests, and blew a few people away with how tight they were. They’ve also become Michael Vdelli’s full-time band, and by all accounts the live show has stepped up another level again.

Blue Shaddy are a real drawcard for the blues purists among us. This is a genuine WA institution — a family band out of the Kellerberrin wheatbelt led by Jim McClelland, with his wife Sandy on bass and brother Graham ‘Belly’ McClelland on harmonica. They’ve been at it since the late ‘90s, released four albums independently, picked up Triple J airplay, and have played everywhere from the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival to Blues at Bridgetown. If you haven’t caught them live, this is the one to get to.

Two chances to catch the same stacked bill:
📍 Friday 4 September, 8:00pm — The Burlington Hotel (Indi Bar), Bunbury
📍 Saturday 5 September, 6:00pm — Ravenswood Hotel, on the banks of the Murray River

Neither of these is an SWBC event — full credit to Starr Special Events, The Burlington Hotel and the Ravenswood Hotel for pulling them together — but with two acts of this calibre on one bill, twice in one weekend, we didn’t want our members to miss it.

Smokin’ Joe is hitting the road — Friday 11 September, 8pm, Donnybrook Hotel.

If you’re up for a night out of town, this is a great excuse. Smokin’ Joe have been putting in the miles across the South West for years, and Donnybrook is lucky to be next on the list.

Expect a set that moves from smooth classic blues through to full-throttle rock ‘n’ roll — these guys know how to work a room, wherever the room is.

Round up a few mates, jump in the car, and make a night of it. Always worth the drive for a Smokin’ Joe show.

🎸 TONIGHT in Perth — worth the drive 🎸

South West blues fans, listen up. If you’re free tonight and don’t mind a road trip, this is the one to make it for. Our own Something Else and friends of the club Art of Dysfunction are joining Michael Vdelli at Lyric’s Underground in Maylands — a genuine once-in-a-lifetime gig, and a rare chance to see our local talent sharing a stage at this level.
