Festival goers will get a real taste of Broome’s best local food, culture, art, music, theatre and fil
m across three main events in addition to a series of smaller and more intimate events created for an all-inclusive Broome experience. Events will evoke an era long gone, through the sights, sounds and smells of the past. Celebrate Broome’s identity and meet the locals as they share their history and heritage with you during this unique festival that cannot be experienced anywhere else but right here in Broome. Music & Picture Show: This award-winning, multi-arts performance is not to be missed if you’re wanting to immerse yourself in the rich history of Broome through song, stories, pictures and people. A smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country will be followed by “Nurlu”, traditional and contemporary Indigenous dance. This will be followed by a true Broome visual feast – the official Music and Picture Show featuring a wealth of musical talent from around the region. A variety of culinary delights and cuisines will be available to purchase from Broome’s multicultural chefs to satisfy your taste buds and fill your bellies.

Broome Film Showcase: Goolarri Media presents a selection of short films made in, for and about the Dampier Peninsula. Be entertained by the spectacular creativity and informed by the unique access of our pool of local film makers.

Open Borders Puppet Workshop: Open Borders encourages all contemporary artists and performers living in regional communities across Western Australia to join us in creating artworks inspired by the theme of “Open Borders”.

Mabu Buru Tours: Local Indigenous man and tour guide Johani Mamid will be taking tour groups around the Broome Peninsula visiting historic and cultural locations.

Stephen Pigram's Fish Soup and Rice Concert: Local music legend, singer songwriter, Stephen Pigram presents this one off music and culture experience. Come listen to Stephen Pigram as he shares songs, stories and pictures in this intimate concert. Included in the ticket each guest will be provided with a taste of delicious Fish Soup and Rice.
