On Sunday 30 August the Broken Hill Field and Game Association conducted a 75 target sporting clays handicap championship shoot. The shoot was generously sponsored by Lindsay Pearce from LTP Refrigeration, Electrical and Air Conditioning. The weather was mild, clear and sunny, perfect conditions for shooting clay targets. After a very busy month of travelling and shooting for our members, organisers were pleased with an attendance of 23 shooters.
The range was set by Gary, Grant and Tim who did an excellent job to present a very good selection of targets that were a pleasure to shoot. There were some hard targets, some easy targets, some tricky targets, and all great fun to shoot. Scores were just a bit below average, maybe it was the rabbits.
The best score off the gun was a very good total of 62 that was shot by Clay Johnston who won the High Gun Medal and trophy with a few targets up his sleeve at the finish. The best handicap total for the shoot was a very impressive 83 shot by B Grade winner Rod Grenfell representing the Milparinka Club.
