Construction is progressing on two fully electric Ro-Pax ferries being built for Danish operator Molslinjen at Incat Tasmania shipyard. The vessels are expected to become the largest battery-powered ferries in Europe once delivered in 2027 and 2028.
Each ferry will carry up to 1,483 passengers and 500 vehicles and will operate on domestic routes in Denmark. Powered entirely by large battery systems, the ships are designed to significantly reduce emissions and support the country’s transition toward greener maritime transport.
